SAGE Astrology began as an astrology website and evolved into a much larger connected platform.
Instead of building one generic application around a single astrology system, I designed an ecosystem of specialized experiences that can support Western, Chinese, Islamic, Vedic, and additional traditions while sharing infrastructure, navigation, media, and long-term platform services.
The project combines calculation engines, AI-assisted interpretation, automated content generation, cultural research, multilingual expansion, media systems, museums, radio, weather, and interactive experiences.
What I designed and built
- Python and Flask application architecture across multiple astrology editions
- Offline astronomical calculations using Swiss Ephemeris through
pyswisseph - Automated daily astrology generation with structured JSON caching
- AI-assisted interpretation layered on top of deterministic calculation engines
- Separate cultural editions designed to preserve their own systems and presentation
- Linux VPS deployment with Nginx, Gunicorn, service management, and multiple subdomains
- Shared platform concepts connecting astrology, museums, radio, weather, archives, and media
- Architecture designed for native-language editions rather than simple page translation
- Search indexing, sitemap infrastructure, analytics, and production deployment workflows
Selected live systems
- Main SAGE Astrology portal
- Western astrology edition
- Western birth-chart calculator
- Chinese astrology edition
- Chinese Four Pillars calculator
- Islamic astrology edition
- Vedic astrology edition
- SAGE Museum infrastructure
- SAGE Radio infrastructure
Design philosophy
The goal is not to make a collection of disconnected pages. SAGE is designed as a living digital environment: specialized systems remain distinct where accuracy and culture require it, while shared infrastructure connects them into one larger experience.
The platform continues to expand as new engines, archives, media systems, interactive tools, and native-language editions are developed.
