Black Lantern is both a creative media brand and the commerce layer of the larger BKS ecosystem.
I designed it to bring original visual storytelling, branded media, apparel, and product design together with the technical systems required to sell, organize, and expand those products. Instead of treating the store as a separate off-the-shelf storefront, Black Lantern is built as an evolving platform connecting creative work with catalogs, pricing logic, suppliers, fulfillment services, and storefront presentation.
What I designed and built
- Custom storefront architecture and product presentation
- Original visual-product and branded media systems
- Print-on-demand catalog integration
- Product and pricing-family organization
- Supplier and fulfillment integration planning
- Automated catalog data workflows
- Apparel systems built around original creative work
- Linux VPS deployment and production service management
- Architecture designed to support multiple brands and product families
How the creative and technical sides connect
The media and visual identity establish the world of Black Lantern; the commerce system gives that creative work a practical path to market. Artwork, apparel, product families, catalog data, pricing, and fulfillment are designed to operate as parts of one connected system rather than separate projects.
Design philosophy
Black Lantern is designed as both a creative brand and expandable infrastructure.
The goal is a platform that can grow as new artwork, media, product lines, suppliers, and fulfillment systems are added while maintaining one consistent identity and storefront experience.
